This patch below set the default number of drives to 3, and adds the ability to select SSDD, DSDD, or QD (quad density) drives as an option. It also includes the patch above to fix the data corruption issue. R/weekendgunnit: No linking to other subs, or from other subs to here, np or otherwise, or you will be banned. That being said, there's still some hard hits and heavy histories with the battle record of the Canadian military. In many ways, it's the only thing that Canadians can still unite behind. Dear Forum:
I have started other threads elsewhere. But I feel this question is most appropriate for this one.
I have an old pc that lacks a CD or DVD burner. It does have a CD 'player,' however. I tried to add a burner, even with greater hard drive, and it wouldn't 'take.'
I could actually replace the player with a burner, I suppose, maybe. Or I could purchase an external burner, temporarily. Also, I am on the verge of purchasing a brand new pc, altogether.
My 3 questions are this:
-I have alot of graphics, mpgs and compositional script (writing) on various 1.44 floppies. I want to transfer them to CDs or DVDs that take up much less room. So here goes:
-First, am I mistaken, or is it true that the new budget and workhorse (power) pcs don't have any slots for 1.44 floppies, because those are rapidly becoming extinct?
-Second, does that rule out transferring floppy graphic and script data from 1.44s onto the CD or DVD drive on my new model computer? In other words, does that mean that I can use the CD or DVD recording options for NEW MATERIAL, only, NOT already PRERECORDED stuff?
Third, if that is the case, am I now forced to first buy a CD or DVD reader or burner, anyway, so I can FIRST transfer all my PREVIOUSLY RECORDED data to CDs? I.e. do I need to purchase a CD or DVD burner (probably an external one, maybe?) IN ADDITION to my new pc?
